SMHA/HSC Intro to Hockey Pre-Power CanSkate
Will be offered in collaboration with Springfield Minor Hockey and Hazelridge Skating Club. The session will be offered by Hazelridge Skating Club as a sperate program from SMHA and HSC regular program. Two National Programs will be combined being skate Canada Learn to Skate and Hockey Canada Learn to play with focus on basic skill development on balance, control, agility, physical literacy and FUN. The program is set up for skaters with limited skating and hockey/ringette experience.
AGE REQUIREMENT 4 & up Skater must be able yo get up ,stand and move on their own without the parent /guardian assistance.
Skaters that are unable to get up on their own ,stand and move with out assistance are welcome to register with Hazelridge Skating Club under the Pre-Can Parent and Tot - Sunday Program 11:15-12:10. Skaters may be offered the opportunity to move into the Intro to Hockey programs thru out the season if skating skills meet the requirements.

Skaters may be placed into a group structure at their appropriate skill level. Coach /Program Assistants may adjust skills to match interest of group. Hockey sticks will not be used at all stations and may not be used at every session. As skaters progress and complete required skills report cards, ribbons, and badges will be handed out.
Equipment - Skates must be laces *Highly Not Recommended* - hard plastic boot with Velcro strap adjustment Must haves for sure Helmet with face mask CSA certified, hockey gloves, elbow and shin pads, stick Stick when standing with skates on typically comes up to skaters chin.
Full Gear is optional: hockey pants, jock, jill strap,neck guard, jersey. As the season moves forward more equipment can be added at parent digression.
