Skills, Tests, Achievement, Recognition - this is what STARSkate is all about!
STARSkate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating. Unique in Canada and coached by STARSkate Canada Professional coaches, this program teaches figure skating skills in a group and /or private lesson format in a progressive and sequential manner and includes specifically designed awards and incentives. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system and to compete at various competitions throughout our region and the province of Manitoba.
Skaters can choose to skate once, twice or three times per week. Please note that STARSkate ice times are not transferrable between days. Casual ice rates apply to home skaters for days other than the day(s) the skater has registered for. We recommend skating at least two days per week. Please check with your coach regarding lesson times before registering.
Group STARSkate - An introduction to skating skills, freeskate and ice dance for skaters transitioning from CanSkate to StarSkate, in their first year or two of Figure Skating. Each session includes a group lesson with a professional coach and some unstructured time for individual practice.
CompetitiveSkate is a program for skaters in singles, pair and ice dance wishing to compete in qualifying events within SkateCanada.
